Moments Lost Forever

Does a mind without a moment realize that its’ there
Or does it suffer silently inside the horrors of despair
Does it reach out futilely for long ago lived youth?
Or can it grasp a second of reality and truth
Does a failing mind live inside our reality?
As the seconds slip away from life into eternity
Are the moments lost forever, were they ever really there?
Did the mind simply forget them; does the failing mind still care
Does a mind without a dream have hope left to survive?
Or does it wither softly onto the other side
Do the people who still care about the one who’s lost their mind;
Have to sit by quietly as their loved ones world unwinds
Why is destiny so cruel to us, is this life truly this unjust
To let my mothers mind turn slowly into dust?
