Life Changing Ideas Came to Fruition...

Back in November 2007 I decided to leave a position with a non-profit organization to work in the for profit sector. I applied and was hired and the IT Director/Systems Administrator for a prominent law firm with multiple offices through Broward and Dade counties. After a few weeks I learned that the attorneys who managed the firm were not into having an IT person for their company but for their personal use as they saw fit.
I played the game for a while and did as I was asked, but it soon got old and I wanted more of my free time to be exactly that, mine. However, when I asked about being compensated for the time I was giving to their personal whims I was told that it was outside the scope of my work duties and that I would not be compensated for it.
On the last day of my ';probationary period' I decided to speak with the managing director of this firm and formally request that my time be compensated or that my salary be increased to reflect the extra time I was working. The reply was that of a deaf mute who could not understand what I said, so I decided that I would not return on my 90th day.
After taking a couple of days away from any work whatsoever I decided to start up my own business which hopefully would be able to satisfy my financial needs and my personal beliefs about business practices and ethics.
Well so far so good! I have closed a couple of deals and also have made a few residential customers very happy by fixing their computers very reasonably.
I am excited to see this become a living breathing business that is for now providing me with the peace of mind I truly needed.

I read one of your poems and it completly blew me away. I think the title for it is "Tribute to Love". Great work, keep it up.

~I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.
